Go Back to College in Gainesville, Florida

Gainesville, Florida is a college town.  Every August over 50,000 students arrive to attend the University of Florida.  The town grew around the school.  The town caters to the students and their parents.  University Street is home to restaurants and bar to meet any visitors needs.  During Saturdays in the Fall, Gainesville is the home of some of the best tailgate parties in all of college football.  For the outdoor visitor, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park provides some hiking and outdoor adventure options.  Keep your eyes peeled one might even see a bison hiding in the prairie.

Avoid the Crowds in Norcross, Georgia

The small town of Norcross, Georgia sits on the suburbs of Atlanta.  The town is large enough to have an array of dining and drinking options, yet keeps the small town feel.  Norcross makes a great base to explore Atlanta without paying Atlanta prices (or having to pay for overnight parking).  It takes about 25 minutes to get to downtown Atlanta.  It is easy to drive into the city of an Atlanta Braves baseball game, ride the roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, check out the fish at the Georgia Aquarium.

Get Cajun Cultured in Lafayette, Louisiana

Widely considered to be the Cajun country capital, Lafayette, Louisiana is a melting pot of culture.  The city was founded by Acadians.  These descendants of French colonists were forced out of their homes in Eastern Canada by the British in the late 1700’s.  The city is one stop shopping for culture.  It has a mix of French, Spanish, African, and American culture.   The city is full of history and a great place to find authentic Cajun food.

Enjoy the Beach at Fort Meyers, Florida

The Gulf coast city of Fort Meyers, Florida is a great place to relax on a beach.  Fort Meyers is away from the bustling tourist hubs of Miami, Orlando, Pensacola, and Daytona.  The city has plenty of white sand beaches and warm water.  The city provides a more relaxed place to enjoy some time off.  Be sure to take some time to visit the summer homes of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison.

Master Golf in Augusta, Georgia

One of the most famous towns in the golf community, Augusta, Georgia is known for its golf.  Every year a new green jacket is presented at the Augusta National Golf Club at its annual tournament called the Masters.  The town takes its golf very seriously and look forward to the next years tournament.  The town has retained many historic buildings such as the over 200 years old Academy of Richmond County building.
