My quest to visit all 59 National Parks has taken many twists and turns. I didn’t know I was going to get a chance to visit the Virgin Islands National Park in St. John this year. I had a last minute opportunity to go so I jumped on the chance and took a flight over to St. Thomas then the ferry to St. John. The Virgin Islands National Park takes up the majority of St. John. This has limited the number of hotels and tourists on the island.
Every summer brings about interesting stories from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The year of 2016 seemed to be the record year for newsworthy idiots in Yellowstone. I hate to call people idiots but if the shoe fits, I will explain while later. I can clearly remember reading four articles about tourists doing dumb things in Yellowstone National Park in 2016. I was astounded that I had read about four major incidents before June of 2016. I have visited Yellowstone, twice. Once as a four-year-old and later, at nineteen years old. I loved both my visits to the park and would have never thought to do any of the things that have made the news in recent months. Here is a list of things to know before visiting Yellowstone National Park.
Hello 2016. I can’t wait to see what you bring in my adventures. 2015 was a great year for exploring the world. I visited 3 continents and 7 countries. I had some great adventures and some amazing experiences. I even had time to visit a few US states and cross 5 National Parks off my list.
I sat near a 1,500 foot vertical drop and admired the view. It had taken me almost 8 years of plotting and planning to make this trip a reality. The view from Angel’s Landing exceeded expectations and was worth the wait. The early explorers were right.
In honor of REI’s #OptOutside movement and part of my Cyber Monday series, I am sharing some of my favorite gifts for a USA national park traveler / junkie like myself.
