Most Instagramable places in the United States National Parks

The United States has one of the world’s greatest system for protecting our natural resources. The national park system was started in 1872 when Yellowstone National Park was created. Since then 417 different national and historical resources have been added to our national park system. Each park is a wonder in itself. They are our national gems and are some of the most instagramable places in the world. I asked my fellow travel bloggers to share the most instagramable places in the United States National Parks (I shared a few of my favorite places as well). Continue Reading . . .

Spotlight Thursday – A Very Scary Bull Bison in Yellowstone National Park

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Spotlight Thursday is from my first solo road trip.  On my way to Mount Rainier National Park, I stopped in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.  After a while, bison herds start to all look the same.  This herd was a little different since it was the only one during my visit that had calfs with them.  Without further ado, here is how I made a deal with a bull bison in Yellowstone National Park. Spotlight Thursday – A Grand Late Winter View of the Grand Tetons

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Spotlight Thursday is from my very first solo road trip across the United States.  As part of that road trip, I made several stops along the way.  One of my favorite stops was a two-day visit to Grand Tetons National Park.  Grand Tetons National Park is 10 short miles south of Yellowstone National Park.  Unlike Yellowstone which became a national park on March 1, 1872, it took another 57 years for Grand Tetons to become a national park.  Grand Tetons protects the Teton Range and part of the Jackson Hole valley.   Continue Reading . . .

Spotlight Thursday – On the Edge of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Spotlight Thursday is from my visit to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.  The North Rim was the last stop on my 2012 National Park Road Trip. Grand Canyon National Park was my 27th National Park on my quest to visit all 59 US National Parks. Continue Reading . . .

My First Cross Country Solo US Road Trip

“Review this list and determine suitability,” is the first line of an email from my father.  He also includes a list of four cars as well.   I stare at the email for a couple minutes.  I walk down the dorm hall to one of my friends.  “If you got an email from your dad with four cars what would you think?” I asked.  “I was getting getting a new car,” was the response.  A call to my father confirmed that I was getting a new car for my cross country US road trip.
