Colorado is a state known for many things. The diverse landscape changes from the plains of the Midwest into the Rocky Mountains. Most of the population lives in the land along the Front Range of the Rockies. During college, I spent 3 months living and exploring this great state and currently I am living in Fort Collins and using the time to explore. Here is my Colorado Bucket List.
Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Photo Thursday is from Vedauwoo section of Medicine Bow – Routt National Forest in Wyoming. This photo is from my second trip to Vedauwoo. Originally, I had planned to climb Pike’s Peak this weekend, but due to the smoke from the 2010 Waldo Canyon Fire, it wasn’t possible. I made the four-hour drive from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Vedauwoo, Wyoming. I camped in the Vedauwoo campground. I had the option of dispersal camping for free, but I liked having a bathroom nearby. I spent the weekend hiking and bouldering among the hoodoos and outcroppings.
A cold wind slams into me as I walk out the Keflavik International Airport. I am actually in Iceland and it’s early February. I unlock my rental car and program my Reykjavik hostel into my GPS unit. I have my hostel for tonight book and have to return the rental car in two and half weeks. I am about to embark on a winter road trip in Iceland without a plan. I have a 10 item bucket list of things I want to do.
