Paddling the Nine Mile Pond Canoe Trail

My hair is being blown straight out by the wind. I unhook the ratchet straps that hold my canoe on my SUV. I starts to swing in the wind. I wasn’t expecting it to be so windy when I planned on canoeing Nine Mile Pond Canoe Trail in Everglades National Park in Homestead, Florida. Despite the name, the trail is only 5 miles. Watching the waves on Grand Turk

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels.  Today’s Photo Thursday is from the island of Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands.  It was a windy day so the waves were large.  My family and I hiked out past the lighthouse on the northern tip of the island.  As we approached the end of the trail, we were greeted with this view of the coastline and sea.  This short trail is located just past the island’s lighthouse.
