Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Spotlight Thursday is from my time living in Fort Collins, Colorado. One week I had some free time so I decided to drive down and hike the Hanging Lake Trail. Hanging Lake trail is hidden above the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon. Glenwood Canyon is a unique canyon. It is one of my favorite canyon drives in the United States. Interstate 70 which runs thru the canyon was specifically designed to preserve the natural beauty of the canyon.
Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Spotlight Thursday is from Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in San Luis Valley, Colorado. I have visited this park twice during my internship in Colorado during the summer of 2012. This is one of the items from my Colorado Bucket List. Great Sand Dunes and I have a love-hate relationship.
Colorado is a state known for many things. The diverse landscape changes from the plains of the Midwest into the Rocky Mountains. Most of the population lives in the land along the Front Range of the Rockies. During college, I spent 3 months living and exploring this great state and currently I am living in Fort Collins and using the time to explore. Here is my Colorado Bucket List.
Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels. Today’s Photo Thursday is of the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Just a few miles from my office, these sandstone rock formations were a favorite evening activity during my summer in Colorado Springs. This photo was taken on the 24 June 2012. I remember the date due to the fact that it was the day that the Waldo Canyon Fire came over the ridge into Colorado Springs. They had closed the Garden of the Gods due to the fire so we were sitting at the overlook above the Garden watching the smoke.
