Savannah, Georgia, is the epitome of a southern United States city.  Established in 1733 as the capital of the Georgia colony, Savannah is a city that combines old-world charm with new-world conveniences.  The city is a wonderful place to take a carriage ride around the cobblestone streets.  It’s is home to many historic buildings and homes such as  Juliette Gordon Low (founder of the Girl Scouts).  The city is also home to the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the first public museums in the world. The Marshall House

To stay in The Marshall House is to stay in one of Savannah’s historic buildings.  The Marshall House was built in 1851.  It is a short walk from River Street and City Market. The hotel is close to Oglethorpe Square and the Davenport House Museum.  Despite the age, the hotel features modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.   Many of the rooms have antique bathtubs, historic parlors, and traditional fireplaces. The hotel reminds guests of the past with a modern flare.
