Lucerne's Kapellbrücke

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels.  Today’s Photo Thursday is from Lucerne, Switzerland.  This photo was taken during my 2006 summer People to People trip to Europe. The main tourist attraction in Lucerne is the Kapellbrücke or Chapel Bridge. The bridge is Europe’s oldest wooden bridge and the world’s oldest truss bridge.  The bridge was built in 1333.  In 1993, the bridge was damaged in a fire and many of the interior paintings were destroyed.  The bridge was restored and it is still possible to visit and walk across the bridge.

Have you gotten a chance to walk across the Kapellbrücke?

Check out my other photos from Photo Thursday.
