I am up before dawn and packing my bags. Surprisingly, it was just after 9 am and I had beaten the sun up. I double checked my hostel room and headed upstairs for breakfast. I had some of my favorite local Icelandic yogurt while I did a quick weather check. The weather report was clear but I had learned over the last six days that the weather could change in an instant. I walked out of my hostel and into the bitter Icelandic cold. The sky was just starting to get light as I gassed up my car for the next stage of my Icelandic Winter Road Trip. I had a little over two hours drive ahead to get to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Photo Thursday was taken while I was visiting Mexico City, Mexico for a long weekend. I took a cheap SouthWest Airlines flight from Houston to Mexico City for the weekend. I was so excited to visit Mexico. Despite having been to over 20 countries I had never been to Mexico. I couldn’t wait to start exploring the history of Tenochtitlan. This photo was taken on my visit to Templo Mayor or the Great Temple in downtown Mexico City.
“Your pass has expired.” My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it. My America the Beautiful National Park Pass had expired. It feels like just yesterday that I bought the pass and now it is expired. I got over my shock and reached into my wallet and handed my credit card over. Time to pay $80.00 for another park pass.
Spain is a vast country with a wide range of local customs and practices. The diverse nature of Spain makes it a perfect country for an extended visit or a study abroad opportunity. Spain has the Pyrenees Mountains to the north and then a Mediterranean coastline as well as an Atlantic coastline. It has many valleys that are famous for their wine and history, and cities that are known for their festivals.
