Journeying to the see the Iceburgs of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

I am up before dawn and packing my bags.  Surprisingly, it was just after 9 am and I had beaten the sun up.  I double checked my hostel room and headed upstairs for breakfast.  I had some of my favorite local Icelandic yogurt while I did a quick weather check.  The weather report was clear but I had learned over the last six days that the weather could change in an instant.  I walked out of my hostel and into the bitter Icelandic cold.  The sky was just starting to get light as I gassed up my car for the next stage of my Icelandic Winter Road Trip.  I had a little over two hours drive ahead to get to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.

Spotlight Thursday – Exploring Mexico’s Templo Mayor

Every Thursday, I will be posting a photo from my travels and a spotlight on the location. Today’s Photo Thursday was taken while I was visiting Mexico City, Mexico for a long weekend.  I took a cheap SouthWest Airlines flight from Houston to Mexico City for the weekend.  I was so excited to visit Mexico.  Despite having been to over 20 countries I had never been to Mexico.  I couldn’t wait to start exploring the history of Tenochtitlan.  This photo was taken on my visit to Templo Mayor or the Great Temple in downtown Mexico City.

A Year with my America the Beautiful National Park Pass

“Your pass has expired.”  My jaw dropped.  I couldn’t believe it.  My America the Beautiful National Park Pass had expired.  It feels like just yesterday that I bought the pass and now it is expired.  I got over my shock and reached into my wallet and handed my credit card over.  Time to pay $80.00 for another park pass.
