I bounce up and down in my airline seat. I can’t wait to land on the Caribbean Island of Dominica. I am excited because while on Dominica I am going to get my PADI Open water Diver Certification. It is the first time I have been to the Caribbean since I discover SCUBA diving on our previous trip to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. I have been looking forward to this trip for months.

4 Things to do in the Small Town of Sirnitz, Austria
Hidden in a the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains is the small town of Sirnitz, Austria. This small town is little more than a church, a store, a couple of small hotels and guesthouses, and a hand full of residents. I spent two days in this Austria town while traveling through Austria on my 2006 People to People trip.

Happy Father’s Day 2015! My dad has celebrated a quarter of the century of Father’s Days. I haven’t been around for a decent number of these but I have some many great memories of time spent with my father. This is to celebrate and honor on of the people responsible for my adventurous spirit.
Hiking to the Indigenous of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
I lean against a palm tree and try to even out my breathing. This mountain hike is a little more difficult than I planned. Not sure why. I knew hiking to visit with the Indigenous of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park wasn’t going to be easy. Beyond the small fence, a three young children play with each other. Two women supervise in the shade of their hut. I bring up my camera and take a few pictures from where I stand. I haven’t been granted permission to enter their homestead. My guide, Carlos, is talking to an older Mamo, leader. He has stopped into chat and see if there is any news from the nearby village.
